Tortellini with tomato sauce and basil

HOW TO MAKE TORTELLINI WITH TOMATO SAUCE AND BASIL

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 2 packages of Modena tortellini – Pasta Fresca Rossi
  • 350 g of diced tomatoes
  • ½ white onion
  • 40 g of Parmigiano Reggiano PDO
  • Salt and extra virgin olive oil, to taste
  • A few fresh basil leaves

Preparation

  1. Let’s start by preparing the sauce. First, peel the onion, slice it, and then cut it into cubes. Sauté it with extra virgin olive oil in a pan.
  2. When the onion starts to turn golden, add the diced tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, add a few basil leaves, and let it cook for about twenty minutes.
  3. While the tomato sauce is cooking, go ahead and cook the Tortellini di Modena Pasta Fresca Rossi by following the instructions on the package
  4. Once ready, drain the tortellini and add them to the sauce. Mix well and serve with a handful of grated Parmigiano Reggiano and a few fresh basil leaves.
